Registrations open

Mother's Day Classic (MDC) is a celebration of spirit and hope that together we can contribute to making breast cancer history. By registering for this event you will be joining thousands of Australians in making Mother’s Day a memorable and meaningful day.

While your registration helps towards funding new research into the prevention and cure for breast cancer, every extra dollar will assist MDC raise even more funds for life-saving research. By setting up an online fundraising page and asking friends, family and colleagues to sponsor your walk or run you will help make a bigger investment of funds for future generations of women with breast cancer.

If each MDC participant raised just $50, that would mean an additional $6 million donation to breast cancer research. We are putting the challenge out to all our participants – raise just $50 each – ask 5 friends to give you $10 each, run a bake stall at your office, ask Facebook friends to donate to your fundraising page.

Christmas gifts

This year for Christmas we want new breast cancer treatments with fewer side effects, simpler detection methods, zero deaths from breast cancer, A CURE!!

Can’t think of something to buy for someone special? What about gifting them a MDC registration? Contact us and we will arrange a MDC Christmas card and registration code to gift – contact us by Thursday 19 December so we can get the card and code to you in time for Christmas Day.

Or perhaps you would rather people make a donation to breast cancer research than give a gift this Christmas. Register for the MDC and activate your fundraising page and ask people to donate to your fundraising page. Put it on your Facebook page, on your email signature, or even on your fridge and encourage donations rather than more iTunes vouchers this year.

When you register to participate, you will receive an email with your own personal fundraising page and more information on fundraising – we are asking that you please take the extra 5 minutes to personalise it and share it with your friends and family. A quick email out to your network will make a huge difference.

Host a regional event

The Mother’s Day Classic is looking for passionate and committed volunteers to bring together a committee and host a MDC in their local community. It only needs a few likeminded people to make an enormous difference - no location is too remote or too small; as long as you share the enthusiasm and desire to help cure breast cancer. So, if there’s no event in your town why not set one up? Whether it’s 40 people or 40,000, every MDC raises funds for breast cancer research, supports and remembers those touched by breast cancer and starts Mother’s Day in a fun and healthy way. You have until 16 March to get an application in to apply to stage a walk in your town. For more information go to  www.mothersdayclassic.com.au

Research

Over the past 16 years, the global research effort has transformed a woman’s experience of breast cancer and the almost $20m raised by the MDC has contributed strongly to this success. Major progress has been made in the fields of prevention and understanding risk; prognosis and prediction; drug development; and life after treatment.
