The physology behind Marathon training is amazing.
How a runner breaks the distance down into doable bits in order to achieve. Where the mind goes, the feet will follow. So if the mind believes then anything is possible!
The opportunity to run for 3 plus hours certainly gives one plenty of time to focus and appreciate so many things.
There are amble opportunities to simply zone out and enjoy your body moving. At other times you focus and enjoy the company with you. While at other times you focus and listen to your body and follow through with the actions it needs - a drink, a water, some fuel....
Coach Colleen ticked off a running "bucket list" wish on Saturday, running from Wondai to Kingaroy. Annette and Colleen were dropped off at Wondai and they then ran the back roads with Colleen' hubby, Len. The course was ever changing with beautiful views, shady parts, dirt roads (easy on the legs) little traffic, lovely smells from flowering wattles and oh not to forget the head wind (at least we were cool)
Annette will be doing her first marathon in May when she travels with a small group of GGG's to Victoria for the Great Ocean Road Marathon - it has been very exciting to watch her powering from strength to strength with each long run. (Youth!)
