Warwick Overview

Yet again, we had a wonderful weekend at Warwick for the 10th Warwick Pentath-run.  A small troop from Kingaroy this year - 13 (6 of those being Gunn's!)  However our small contingency still managed to scoop up a few age group wins and placings but more importantly we had a FUN time running together!

In the Half Marathon, Bruce Jay and Jarred Gunn placed first in their age groups (can I mention, Jarred's time - 1:30:20) The GGG"s ran together in two groups and throughly enjoyed each others company during the Half's course to Yangan.

At 11:30am the cross country a few of us sat out which did allow us to watch everyone and observe the many styles of running!  Jarred placed third in his age group.

The last race on Saturday saw us arrive  at Sandy Creek Pub for the 5k event.  This was a special occasion with Brad running his first 5k event.  Wohoo! He ran the entire course and finished under 38mins (You must have a great coach!)  Bruce placed first in his age group and Jarred second with a time 20:46:55.

Sunday's mornings freezing conditions saw the particpants of the Pentath-run take a new course to reach the Queen Mary Falls.  Coach Gunn found the 0 temperature to her advantage and hot tailed along the course with NO walks on the accending 10k!  Finishing in 1:02.  Jen and Jo ran Warwick's 10k for the first time and both we very happy with their results, even though before hand the accent seemed very challenging.  Jo 1:09 and Jen 1:15.  Jarred won his age group again in under 48mins!

The last event saw the GGG's don on thier famous tutu's and run the 1500m  to the cheers of the crowd.  Ethan Gunn took the lime light  with a first place in his age group with a 6:19:38 finish.

Len, Reece, Jarred  and Donna ran all the events.  With gutsy determination Donna got through with a very painful blister.  When you run all events the total distance equals the Marathon distance 42.2k.

Oh and one last mention, our mate Steve also competed this weekend and we are proud of his efforts too, placing first in all events (not his age group, people but No.1 in each event) so well done Steve.
