Belief

Thank you to the members who attended the "Goals Gathering" meeting on Wednesday night - its wonderful to see so many of you planning to challenge yourselves this year with a variety of running goals.

You have now made your goals decision so what's next?

Simple, commit to the training - consistent running and following the training program will see you standing on the start line of your chosen event - fit, healthy and ready -  PROMISE!

Your biggest huddle will be to develop your MINDSET - take faith in hand and begin to believe in yourself.  Yes you don't know for absolute certainity that you can make the distance however through positive affirmations (and the training) you will make it!

Develop your affirmations NOW! eg, I am a Half Marathoner, I am a Ten k Runner, I am a Marathoner,  I am strong and fit, I run until the run is finished, I love running, I can do this, I am a woman therefore I can, I will arrive at the start line fit, uninjured and healthy........

Make your affirmations personal - it has to mean something to you, it needs to motivate you, it needs to remind you why you are running, it will keep you focused, committed and believing in yourself.

Running is such a mind game so tools such as affirmations,  the chorus from a favorite song (eg. Eye of the Tiger) and  motivational ditti's ( eg. the next step is the most important) will definitely make a difference to your running journey.
