Goals are important in all aspects of life - Goals give direction, Goals encourage us to become all that we can be. However, sometimes Goals have to be reset, sometimes the Goal Post has to be moved.
"Life" is a part of our lives and the unexpected can arise and Coach, Colleen is not immune to Life's unexpected disruptions. Perhaps you have heard by now that Colleen has whooping cough so suddenly despite all the training and the committment to the Goal - to run the marathon at the Gold Coast in July - Colleen has had to shift the goal post.
What is important to remember is that when we make the committment to be a Runner for Life - moving the Goal Post can be done. A committed Runner knows there will be other events whether its next month, next year or in the years to come.
Enforced time out from running for most only solidifies further that running is a part of your life that you need and want. There are a few GGG's who are great examples - their commitment to themselves and their running is clearly shown - each time they have time out due to injury or illness - eventually their faces reappear at club sessions. They are the true Runners!
