- Nothing works like WORK - regular, committed running - week afte week, year after year is what creates success in running. There are no short cuts - put the effort in and the effort will be rewarded
- Its a Group effort - running may be an individaul sport however your success to become a life time runner could be made easier when you belong and commit to a group or club. Assistance from a coach, knowledge shared between runners can only expand your experience and ability to become a successful runner.
- Don't burn the candle at both ends-it doesn't work - early morning wake ups require a reasonable hour of the night to go to bed. Those who stay up late, aren't at running in the morning! A sleep in is never as good as a run!
- Believe in Yourself - be positive - be truthful about your ability - set reasonable expectations - be patient - always treat yourself with a kind mind.
- If you want it, you'll find the time- we all live in the same busy world.
- You're Never too old - don't let the aging process have its way - live a fit healthy long life - my gosh !I want the other 80 yr olds to be sooo envious of my toned shaped pins!
- Take a break-rest, recovery, downtime, breaks of any kind are important. When you instincts say you need a rest - you need a rest.
- If in doubt -keep moving - "its one foot in front of the other because the next step is the most important" just keep saying this if you ever have a standstill moment during a run.
