GGG's raised just short of $3000 for the Cancer Council's Relay for Life. A team of 12 GGG's put in a mighty effort both in the lead up and at this year's event. Gottem City and its Super Hero citizen's decended upon the Murgon Showgrounds to promote a positive, fun vibe to the event. These fit Super hero's ran for 18hrs and clocked up approx 160k's. We wholeheartly say that this year's venue was brilliant. The Murgon showgrounds was an easy track to run on and the facilities were plentiful and very convenient.
Yes, the night was cold and yes it did briefly rain and yes we did get tired and yes we did get sore BUT it was so worth it!
To spend time with these amazing women was such a reward in itself.
We had many reasons to be involved and they we never far from our minds as we ran. We honoured several women at the candlelight ceremony - two survivors and one who has only recently been diagnosed - remembering those we have lost, supporting those who are battling and celebrating those who have won against cancer.
