Originally, the cap was required to show we were a group, it gave a sense of belonging and it reminded each woman, that they had a regular running date with the group.
However the cap has since became a symbol representing a successfully committment to running and it is recieved by many as a great honour. Many appreciative hugs and even a few tears have be shed when a new GGG is given her cap.
